Collector's questions answered

Will the colours in my print last over time?

Ans. All screen prints are produced using Mastar inks on museum-grade fine art paper and all giclee prints are produced using archival pigment ink. When properly framed and kept out of direct sunlight, they are designed to retain their colour and detail for decades.

What's the difference between a screen print and a giclée print?

Ans. Screen prints are created by hand, with each colour individually layered through a stencil process. This gives them a slightly tactile, graphic quality and makes each edition feel more like an original painterly piece.

Giclée prints are high-resolution fine art reproductions created using archival inkjet technology, allowing for subtle tonal detail and painterly texture.

What makes prints collectible?

Ans. All limited edition prints are hand-signed and numbered.

Edition sizes are kept intentionally small to maintain collectability and ensure each piece retains its sense of rarity over time.

Collectability is often influenced by the size of the edition, the materials used, and whether the work is signed by the artist.

Are your screen prints made by hand?

Ans. Yes. Screen prints are created through a manual layering process, with each colour applied individually by hand. This gives each work a distinct physical presence and subtle variations that are not present in digitally produced reproductions.

Do your prints come framed?

Ans. All prints are sold unframed. Framing options are available for most works on paper.

How are the prints packaged and shipped?

Ans. Prints are either flat-packed with protective layers or rolled in heavy-duty art tubes. Original paintings are carefully wrapped using protective materials to ensure they arrive safely.

The art community says

The work lives well

"His works are dynamic and playful; yet reveal a discrete gravitas exploring concepts, and seemingly hapless experimentations with intentionality. Leitch is no accident. The vibrant energy in his works attests to his deliberate consideration of lofty themes informing rigorous art practice."

Elizabeth Brookbanks

BA (Art History) Otago, BFA (hons) Auckland, BA (hons) Auckland, MA (Art History) Auckland

"I was impressed, not only by high standard of his work, but his ethic and professionalism. As a result - I invited Sam to be my ‘Guest Artist and speaker’ at my annual exhibition at Ambush Gallery in Sydney. 2/3rd of his work sold at my exhibition. There are some very fortunate homeowners in Sydney upon whose walls Sam’s works now hang."

Rex W Turnbull

Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts

"Sam Leitch is a young Auckland artist who has emerged with a glowing future. His passion and skills and the influence of Basquiat amongst others are highly evident. But that's not for a second to undermine the striking originality that permeates his uplifting artworks. Watch his career grow quickly in stature."
